Exhibition

Toshio Shibata

Saturday, Oct 11, 1997–Sunday, Jan 04, 1998

Toshio Shibata, the Tokyo-based photographer, will receive his first solo U.S. museum exhibition at the MCA. Shibata¹s meticulous gelatin silver print photographs depict landscapes in large format. He often photographs man-made structures that are at odds with their environment. Shibata will produce his first series of works depicting the American landscape during his MCA-sponsored residency.

The exhibition is organized by Kevin E. Consey, MCA Director and Chief Executive Officer, with the assistance of MCA Assistant Curator Staci Boris.
