Jorge Pardo’s project for the Refco Project Series continues the tradition of site-specific installations at the MCA with a 26-foot-long by 9-foot-wide sailboat occupying the atrium space inside the new MCA building. Another component of the Cuban-born Los Angeles-based artist’s first-ever solo museum show is Pardo’s presentation of weekly changing installations in the museum’s Project Gallery.

This exhibition is organized in cooperation with the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) in Los Angeles. In that city, Pardo is building a house off-site and installing it with works from MOCA’s collection. At the MCA, Jorge Pardo is organized by Manilow Curator of Exhibitions Amada Cruz.
