As a welcome to the neighborhood and a celebration of the museum’s opening, six rock and blues bands perform with a light show provided by Lighting Systems Design of Chicago.

With the launch of this website, the MCA has created a platform for archiving and publishing images and stories from our 50-plus-year history. Though many exhibition and event pages currently lack descriptions or illustrations, we’re committed to a program of ongoing research that will fill in the blanks over time.
