From ease of communication, to decentralized power structures, to role-playing and identity-switching, the Internet has allowed an explosion of changes that are quite unlike anything that’s happened before in human history. Ira Glass, host of WBEZ’s This American Life (syndicated to 65 cities), will lead a live program on how the Internet, e-mail, chat rooms, and the related explosion of unregulated thought is changing our lives.

Co-hosted by playwright and Letters Show host David Hauptschein, Stories from the Web will draw from the life experiences of audience members. The audience will be asked to give personal anecdotes, as the hosts present interviews, e-mail correspondence, and found information to fuel the discussion. These two programs, held on consecutive Saturdays, will be taped for future national broadcast on WBEZ’s This American Life.
