For our 2026–27 Learning Series, we explore artistic practices that challenge dominant systems of value and imagine more liberatory ways of being, making, and learning. Artist and educator William Estrada joins us to explore how art can create spaces for connection, collective learning, and social change.

Estrada’s practice brings together art, education, and community organizing, using collaborative artmaking to center lived experience and create opportunities for people to share knowledge, build relationships, and shape their own narratives. Through conversation and hands-on activities, participants consider how creative practices can support world-building, collective care, and new ways of imagining what—and who—we value.

Teachers will leave with approaches for bringing these ideas into their own classrooms and creating opportunities for students to see art as a tool for expression, connection, and imagining possibilities beyond existing systems.
