Teen Creative Agency

Teen Creative Agency (TCA) is a group of teens who meet every Saturday at MCA Chicago. Driven by their passions and with contemporary art as a lens to understand themselves and the world, they learn to critically look at art, speak publicly as they share their own ideas with others, and participate fully in the life of the MCA.

15 art-loving Chicago teens. Led by 2 local artists. Brought together for a 2-year program. Pioneered by 1 museum, the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago.

In 2011, Annual Fund resources helped launch the MCA Teen Creative Agency (TCA). Created to augment limited art resources in Illinois schools, this two-year program transforms the city of Chicago into an interactive classroom to educate and inspire the next generation of contemporary artists. Teens interact with local artists, engage in critical analysis and discussion of art, and work hand-and-hand with MCA staff. Most importantly, TCA members probe the question “What is art?” and work to understand art’s function and value in today’s society.
