The MCA is all about connecting our visitors to art, culture, and each other—whether they’re visiting us in Chicago or connecting with us on social media. So when Basim Magdy asked to takeover our Instagram feed a few weeks ago we jumped at the chance to reveal the artist’s art to a broader audience. Not only did he send us beautiful images to post over the course of the week, he also told a poetic story through his captions.
As part of the exhibition, Magdy invited visitors to take over his exhibition by reinterpreting his art and practice and posting their creations to social media using \#BasimToldMeTo. Though the exhibition closes this weekend, there's still time to participate in his project. Discover more about his artworks and how to participate here.
