Tuesdays on the Terrace is the MCA's summer jazz series celebrating Chicago's robust music scene. Audio broadcasts are available on Facebook Live every Tuesday, July through September, from 5:30–6:30 pm. Versatile vocalist Morgan Pirtle blends jazz and contemporary influences in two sets with her group, consisting of Chris Madsen on saxophone, Aaron Day on guitar, Brendan Doshi on piano, Andrew Vogt on bass, and Alvin Cobb on drums.

Morgan Pirtle is a versatile vocalist and composer based in Chicago. She blends jazz and contemporary influences to create ethereal and impactful soundscapes. In 2018, she graduated with honors from the University of Illinois at Chicago's jazz studies program and the Honors College, where she attended on both merit and academic scholarship. At UIC, she studied with vocalist Cheryl Wilson and previously has worked with artists such as Rufus Reid, Sheila Jordan, Jon Faddis, Jay Clayton, Dee Alexander, Jennifer Barnes, Kim Nazarian, and Greg Jasperse. You can find her performing all over the Chicagoland area including the Shedd Aquarium's Jazzin' at the Shedd series, Reggies, Schubas Tavern, Andy's Jazz Club, Winter's Jazz Club, the Hyde Park Jazz Festival, Chicago SummerDance, and more. In 2018, she made her debut at the 40th Annual Chicago Jazz Festival with her group Morgan Pirtle + 5. Also in 2018, she was named a Luminarts Fellow in Jazz, won the People's Choice Award at the Luminarts 2018 Jazz Finals, and was named Outstanding Undergraduate Vocalist in the 2018 DownBeat Student Music Awards. Her debut EP Muse was released in April 2019 and is available on all streaming platforms.
