About the Event
Contemporary sound-based artists transform your MCA experience on select Friday nights with custom soundtracks reflecting their perspective of works on view in the museum. DJ sets and live bands occupy spaces as the museum itself amplifies their sound constructions.
Free Write Arts & Literacy engages incarcerated and court-involved youth in the performing, visual, and literary arts so that they become the narrators of their own stories and the authors of their futures. Free Write’s Soundtrack features sets from youth DJs responding to their lived experiences and the context of performing at the MCA.
This program is produced in partnership with Free Write Arts & Literacy and Assistant Curator Gibran Villalobos with the Performance and Public Practice team.
