Jean-Claude Eloy
Shanti

This 2 1/4 hour epic work by Jean-Claude Eloy was widely acclaimed at its premiere at the Royan Festival in 1974. The "Music for Meditation" combines the sounds of revolutionary movements (crowd noises, Mao's poems, Eldridge Cleaver's speeches) with readings from the sainted Indian mystic Shri Aurobind, mixing them in a matrix of pure electronic sounds and using them as musical elements as well. Pan P.A. provided the high quality sound reinforcement equipment necessary for this concert.
