Play games in the Commons: Design your own avatar or anime character inspired by I Was Raised on the Internet with members of the Street Level Anime Club; visitors of all ages are invited to explore the process of developing a character profile and basic drawing strategies. About the Participants

The Chicago Public Library Games Team brings their board game collection to street festivals to teach attendees about Chicago-designed games. Communities interact as they learn about game design in Chicago. Chicago residents can also pick up a game anytime at the Business, History, and Science reference desk on the 6th floor of the Harold Washington Library.

Artist Josue Pellot received his MFA from Northwestern University and his BFA from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Pellot has received attention through a number of solo exhibitions, including at Universidad Catolica De Puerto Rico, Ponce, Puerto Rico; Museo de Arte de Caguas, Caguas, Puerto Rico; Chicago Cultural Center; and Hyde Park Art Center, Chicago. His work has been included in group exhibitions at Museo de Arte Contemporaneo, San Juan, Puerto Rico; Contemporary Art Society, London; Vane Contemporary, Newcastle, England. He currently resides in Chicago.

Street Level is Urban Gateways' youth digital media center located in Chicago's West Town neighborhood at 1637 N Ashland Ave. Program participants can make anything from a mixtape to a movie with instant access to high-end computers, studio equipment, and cameras. They offer a free weekly schedule of classes, clubs, workshops, and more with digital media artists James and Lisa as well as special guests. Youth can share their work online or even in Urban Gateways' art gallery. Street Level also has activities like video game tournaments and anime movie screenings. Creative young people ages 13 to 24 are welcome to register for programs; they also offer field trips for schools groups.
