About

The MCA heralds the opening night of Baryshnikov Productions Man in a Case with a special celebratory evening featuring a dessert reception with the performers. This is a rare opportunity to experience the stunning work of theater artist Mikhail Baryshnikov and the ensemble of Big Dance Theater in the intimate Edlis Neeson Theater.

Man in a Case is based on two short stories of humor, despair, and unrequited love by Anton Chekhov. Two hunters talk late into the night and share stories of a man's fears trumping the pursuit of life's most promising possibilities. Adapted and directed by Annie-B Parson and Paul Lazar of Big Dance Theater, who return to MCA Stage for their fourth MCA Stage project.

Following the performance, engage in a post-show dialogue while enjoying cocktails and dessert in the museum’s galleries.

This event is cochaired by Performance Committee member Ginger Farley and MCA Trustee Sara Szold.
