Noelle Allen

About

Referencing fossil studies and scientific renderings of cellular mitosis, Noelle Allen creates large-scale drawings, which depict the rupturing of avian bodies, for this 12 x 12 exhibition. Her materials: graphite and watercolor on Mylar—a thin, translucent polyester sheet—reflect the fragility of her subject matter. The drawings fluctuate between the micro level of close attention to the component parts of the body and the macro level of scenic depictions of entropy and the pleasure and pain of corporeal transformation.
