For his performance, Heat Sink, sound artist Nathan Butler creates a feedback network generated by an initial performance. The movements from the performance are fed into a computer program to create a score which in turn activates space heaters within the gallery. Recorded and translated into a different medium, Heat Sink’s score offers only a trace of Butler's original movements. However, Heat Sink changes throughout the month, since each week's score is set by a different performance. Butler performs on September 11, 18, and 25 at 6:30 pm.
