About

This exhibition, drawn primarily from the MCA Collection, presents photographic works in which the artist uses his or her own image, many of which incorporate elements of performance. Featuring work by Matthew Barney, Douglas Gordon, Nikki S. Lee, Inigo Manglano-Ovalle, Mariko Mori, and Cindy Sherman, among others, this exhibition demonstrates how self-representation can both reveal and conceal aspects of the artist’s identity as well as address a broad range of social and cultural issues.
