About this event

How can we be resilient in moments of crisis? Join a group of Chicago artists from The Long Dream including Dutes Miller (of Miller & Shellabarger), Selva Aparicio, and Quarantine Times artists Anthony Sims and Ahniya Butler as they share their favorite ways to take care of themselves and their communities.

The experience begins with a reflection on anxiety and care, before moving into smaller breakout sessions for artist-led activities. Participate in writing exercises, creating of small objects for others, and facilitated conversations around healing as Chicago artists share insights on mutual and community care in response to collective trauma.

This interactive workshop and conversation takes place on Zoom, and participants can join with video on, if they choose. Participants are invited to interact as much or as little as they desire.

MCA Talks highlight cutting-edge thinking and contemporary art practices across disciplines. This presentation is organized by Meagan Burger, Manager of Adult Learning and Cameron McEwen, Coordinator, with The Long Dream Public Programs team.

This program is made possible by the Kristina Barr Lectures, which were established through a generous gift by The Barr Fund to the Chicago Contemporary Campaign.
