MCA Studio: The Longest Night

Announcement

Tuesdays are always FREE for Illinois residents.

About

Celebrate the astronomical phenomenon that marks the shortest day and the longest night of the year with Adler Planetarium astronomers for a special presentation of Scopes in the City on the MCA's Ann and John Kern Terrace, weather permitting. Then come inside to have your tarot cards read by Laughing Eye, Weeping Eye, and the MCA's own Grace Deveney. In the event of cloudy skies or other inclement weather, guests are invited to Sort the Universe! Create your own groupings of various astronomy photos and share pictures of your groupings using the hashtag #ScopesIntheCity.

Four tarot cards are placed in a row on an embroidered black tablecloth. Three of the four cards reveal an image. A dried rose frames the top of the photo. Two crystals and a smudging stick are in the foreground. A fifth unrevealed card is cut off in the lower left corner.
