Saturday Shorts: DIY Solar Sculptures with Tiffany Holmes

About

Go green and make small sculptures that twitch and move using sunlight! Dive into the world of do-it-yourself "ecotech" with April's UBS 12 x 12 artist Tiffany Holmes in this workshop that demonstrates how to create a functional solar panel from recycled cell pieces and how to "hack" a solar toy to re-use the moving parts in one-of-a-kind objects. Holmes is an Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Art and Technology at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago where she teaches courses in environmental art, interactivity, and the history and theory of electronic media.
