Diplomacy is more than just its formal idea, filled with meetings and 3-piece suits; sometimes it's also cultural—where ideas, values, and free expression are respected and exchanged between nations and people. Extending this aspect of diplomacy across the globe (or even within our own communities) seems more urgent than ever these days and the MCA is proud to see Chicago artist Nick Cave honored with the International Medal of Arts for his work with Art in Embassies, as well as the five other artists awarded this honor.
