Egyptian artist Basim Magdy became an honorary Chicagoan this summer, regularly visiting the MCA as he prepares for his first US museum survey and working at the Hyde Park Art Center as part of the Jackman Goldwasser Residency. Though the residency concludes next week, there is still time to catch up with the artist before then. Next Wednesday, August 24, visit Magdy during the last open studio of his residency and see what he's been working on all summer. If you miss him this time, don't fret: he'll be back in the winter for the opening of Basim Magdy: The Stars Were Aligned for a Century of New Beginnings on December 10.
