This exhibition is the largest and most significant solo presentation of the Los Angeles–based photographer and filmmaker Sharon Lockhart in an American museum to date, and presents a survey of her work from 1994 to the present. Lockhart investigates the relationship between the photograph and the motion picture in works that employ a cinematic mise en scène to present a uniquely personal and unconventional image of people from other cultures.
This exhibition is curated by Associate Curator Dominic Molon.
