Infinite Loop: Selected Light Works from the MCA Collection

About
This exhibition brings together installations by Tatsuo Miyajima and Jenny Holzer—never before shown in the MCA galleries—with more familiar works from the MCA Collection by Robert Smithson and Bruce Nauman. The works in Infinite Loop operate on the principle of endless repetition, offering both linear and cyclical interpretations of our experience of time. Mirrors stacked to create the optical illusion of infinite reflection; words representing opposing concepts in a flashing neon circle; a ceaseless display of incendiary statements and graphics; and LED digit counters programmed at variable rates pose questions about the relationship between knowledge and duration, the ephemeral and the eternal.
This exhibition is curated by MCA Assistant Curator Alison Pearlman.
