About the Event

In a year when labor and life are physically intertwined, this discussion will explore the historical and contemporary boundaries between art and life and what we can learn from communal practices toward building a better union today.

Related to themes in the exhibitions Alien vs. Citizen and Just Connect, and the performance project Chapter & Verse: The Gospel of James Baldwin by Meshell Ndegeocello, panelists include Ndegeocello's collaborators, director Charlotte Braithwaite and artist Nicholas Galanin, as well as Chicago-based scholar Pascale Ife Williams.

MCA Talks highlight cutting-edge thinking and contemporary art practices across disciplines. This presentation is organized by Interim Senior Curator January Parkos Arnall and Curatorial Assistant Marguerite Wynter with the Performance and Public Practice team.
