"We know, we know, there was JUST an election. And there's another one coming up?! Yes. But have no fear, State Matters is here. If you're still spinning from the last election and wondering what you are going to be voting for, this event is for you. If you've never voted before, this event is for you, too. You'll even get a party favor! It's a placemat... that lays it all out for you.
The Chicago Municipal Election is February 26th, and while there are significantly fewer offices on the ballot than the midterms, you've probably heard there's A LOT of candidates. We're NOT going to tell you who to vote for, but we are going to help you get prepared to vote smart. Join State Matters for a training about how city government works, the offices you'll be voting on, the ballot measures you'll see, and how to pass that information on to your friends, coworkers, and family."

About State Matters
State Matters is a group of artists, designers, developers, policy wonks, and writers who founded the group in 2017 to make Illinois government clear and unintimidating. As a nonpartisan educational organization, they aim to engage, educate, and inspire—regardless of who you are or where you’re coming from. State Matters provides some basic answers about how the state works (or doesn’t).
This program is produced in partnership with State Matters and the MCA’s Partnerships and Engagement Liaison Gibran Villalobos.
