EMERGE Journal Launch

About

emerge is an experimental online publication of the Department of Arts Administration and Policy at SAIC. Led by a team graduate students, the Fall 2017/Spring 2018 issue invites artists and thinkers to contend with cultural institutions' reliance on inequality to advance their missions of social progress, resistance, and equity. The answers obtained and reported on vary—from conversations around labor to imagined solutions to problems—presenting a constellation of thoughts and practices that engage questions of how we work and how the art world functions.

The public is invited to speak with the contributors and organizers of the emerge journal and to continue the conversation surrounding civic organizing within the arts.
