About

To honor our anniversary and celebrate 50 years as a hub of creativity and community in Chicago, the MCA has created MCA Stories, a website that gathers the stories of our community. Staff, artists, scholars, visitors, and patrons share memories of their favorite exhibitions and events, of encounters with artists and artworks, and of helping to build a new kind of museum from scratch.

A picture emerges of the MCA as a place of excellence and experimentation, inspired by a committed group of founders with a goal to build an institution unlike any other in Chicago and visitors with an appetite for the new.
