Learn how to design and build your own shadow puppet in a workshop led by members of the Chicago-based experimental puppet collaborative, Pup House. Experiment with a variety of techniques for simple shadow puppet theater and learn slights of hand to deceptively delight an audience. The evening ends with a live performance by Pup House.
About the Artists
Originally founded by Sara Drake in 2011, Pup House is an experimental shadow puppet collaborative that investigates the bizarre alter worlds that exist in the midst of the ordinary. Combining overhead projectors, paper cut-outs, animation, and live sound, Pup House creates immersive viewing experiences. Pup House is home to a rotating cast of artists with diverse backgrounds spanning visual arts, fiber, performance, animation, and sound.
