International Contemporary Ensemble (ICE),
Xenakis

World-renowned percussionist and conductor Steve Schick joins the International Contemporary Ensemble (ICE)  for a ground-breaking collaborative performance of the music of Iannis Xenakis. An architect, composer, philosopher, mathematician, and political dissident, Xenakis was one of the consummate innovators of the 20th century. His influence is felt everywhere from the angular extremes of contemporary architecture to the aural extremes of Punk and Noise music.

The performance by ICE and Steve Schick of five major works—PsapphaEchangeAkanthosPalimspsete, and the Chicago premiere of Xenakis' final composition, O-Mega—is a rare opportunity to experience the raw, ritualistic energy and architectural complexity of this music.
