Families are invited to take tours, win prizes, watch theatrical performances, go on a scavenger hunts, and create art.
- Chalk Art
- 10:30 am–3 pm, MCA Plaza
Celebrate spring and help brighten up the plaza with your brilliant creations. The program will be cancelled in the event of inclement weather.
- Creative Comics
- 10:30 am–4 pm, Mayer Education Center lobby
Write and design a comic strip, then take it one step further to create a moving story mobile.
- Playful Patterns
- 10:30 am–4 pm, Main-floor atrium
Create a unique pattern and use it to make an original place mat.
- Repicturing Images
- 10:30 am–4 pm, Studios
Cut, trace, and collage parts of an image into a one-of-a-kind masterpiece.

Learn about artist Rudolf Stingel’s paintings and see amazing photographs from the MCA Collection.
- *Young Ensemble Performance
- Noon and 1 pm, Kanter Meeting Center
Lookingglass Theatre Company's Young Ensemble presents scenes from its recent production of The Odyssey adapted by Mary Zimmerman. Share an amazing voyage complete with magic, monsters, and brave feats in Homer's epic tale of Odysseus' fantastical ten-year journey. Pick up tickets at the Kanter Meeting Center, first-come, first-served.
- Lookingglass Theater Workshops
- 2 and 3 pm, Kanter Meeting Center
Lookingglass offers three creative classes exploring the actor’s tools of voice, mind, and body in theater games that encourage imagination and cooperation. Each workshop lasts for approximately 30 minutes and is limited to 30 people. Pick up tickets at Kanter Meeting Center, first-come, first-served.
- Bark at the Art!
- 1–3 pm, Sculpture Garden
- See some amazing doggy tricks and enjoy the springtime sunshine! Bring your dog and join us for a romp in the MCA sculpture garden. At 2 pm the FLYDOGS will amaze you with their dog tricks, including leaps, weaves, spins and jumps!
Free snacks for dogs. Prizes will be awarded for outstanding dog tricks. Bring a frisbee or a ball and celebrate the beauty of dogs. Please enter through the garden gate in back of the museum if you are bringing a four-legged friend. Sorry, no dogs are allowed inside the museum.
