Over the past decade, Bunky Green, Chicago composer and teacher, had sought a "new tonality" by devising a "system to play systematically out of key." This concert was the first public performance of these experiments in jazz. Playing with Bunky were Bob Fredericks (tenor saxophone), Ron Kubelik (piano), Greg Brucker (bass) and Vern Wenerstrom (drums).
