Holly Herndon
Composer, musician, and sound artist
Based in San Francisco, Tennessee-native Holly Herndon spent her young adult years exploring the electronic music scene in Berlin before returning to the states to pursue an MFA in electronic music and recording media at Mills College in Oakland. While in school, she began her first album, Movement, which Pitchfork has labeled "a record with the rare capacity to turn cynics who might scoff at the idea of laptops-as-intimate-instruments into believers."
When she is not exhibiting her work or touring the world, Holly spends her time between Germany and California and currently attends Stanford University where she is working toward a doctorate in composition.
