Chef James Martin

James Martin is the chef and owner of Bocadillo Market, a new Spanish-inspired restaurant in Chicago. He is the third chef in the Marisol Chef Collaboration series.

As a child, Martin fell in love with the food and culture his family shared on trips to visit relatives in South Carolina. Traveling as an adult, Martin was surprised by the similarities between the dishes and ingredients of Spain and the dishes and ingredients he was familiar with from the American South. Now with his team at Bocadillo Market, Martin explores the culinary traditions behind Spanish cuisine and hopes to share a bit of that culinary history with guests through each bite.
