The MCA Café is closed for construction. Our new restaurant, Marisol, opens this summer.
About Our Redesign
Coming in 2017, a world-class creative team will reimagine many of the MCA’s public spaces and the museum’s dining experience as part of an architectural redesign of the building led by the Los Angeles architects Sharon Johnston and Mark Lee of Johnston Marklee. Turner Prize–winning British painter Chris Ofili will create the restaurant environment; Chicago chef Jason Hammel will be the head chef of the restaurant; and Mexican design duo Pedro y Juana will design the Commons, a new social engagement space.
Tuesdays on the Terrace
On Tuesdays in June–September, stay cool with the breeze off the lake and performances by local jazz musicians from 5:30–8 pm on the Anne and John Kern Terrace Garden.
Due to construction, dining options for Tuesdays on the Terrace in June will be limited. During this time the MCA Café is offering a simplified grill menu as well as cold beverages, wine, and seasonal cocktails on our lawn and upper terrace. Tables on the upper terrace are available on a first-come basis and there will be no table service for Tuesdays on the Terrace in June. Open seating is still available on our terrace or bring a blanket to relax on the lawn.
