on the redesign

Two weeks ago The New York Times broke the news about our big redesign project, which includes a major commission by artist Chris Ofili (his first ever in North America), the naming of Lula Cafe owner and chef Jason Hammel as chef of our new restaurant, and a newly enlarged and relocated education space designed by Pedro y Juana.

Last week, chef Hammel sat down with Crain’s Chicago Business and shared some hints about what he's planning for the MCA's new restaurant, including "fresh mozzarella inspired by his 101-year-old grandfather."

Read more about his ideas for the new restaurant, opening summer 2017.
