About

“One thing that I love about the MCA is its rich history of performing art,” Samantha Hill declared on Feb 3 as she introduced the first of three projects she presents at the MCA. Taking a cue from past performance art occupying the museum galleries, Hill invited visitors to reinsert performance back into the galleries for an evening through their own actions using Hill’s prompt, “How can you engage the art to create a new work of art?” As snow fell outside, museum guests, sometimes strangers, collaborated with each other throughout the evening to create new physical responses to the works on view.
