DESCRIPTION:Kim Brandt is a choreographer who creates performances that ask motion to\nanswer questions about how a body can be\, and explores how a coming\ntogether alters the tone of our environment. She has presented her work in\nNew York City at The Shed (2019)\, MoMA/PS1 (2018)\, SculptureCenter (2017)\,\nAbrons Arts Center (2017)\, Pioneer Works (2016)\, Artists Space (2015)\, AVA\nGallery (2015)\, and The Kitchen (2014). Her work has been supported by a\nNYFA/NYSCA Fellowship in interdisciplinary arts (2018)\, a Foundation for\nContemporary Arts Grants to Artists Award (2017)\, the Mertz Gilmore\nFoundation (2016¬–2018)\, the Jerome Foundation Travel and Study Grant\n(2016)\, and the Brooklyn Arts Council (2016). She has received residencies\nat MoMA/PS1 (2017–2018)\, Djerassi (2018)\, Movement Research\n(2016–2018)\, the Bogliasco Foundation (2016)\, and the ISSUE Project Room\n(2015). She has performed in the works of Bruce Nauman\, Ryan McNamara\, and\nWalter Dundervill\, and her writing and interviews have appeared in\nArtforum\, BOMB Magazine\, Girls Like Us\, and Sound American. Brandt earned a\nBA from Hampshire College and an MFA in sculpture from Tyler School of Art.
