Chicago Human Rhythm Project (CHRP) in association with MCA Stage present JUBA! Masters of Tap and Percussive Dance, three distinct programs featuring a host of extraordinary foot drummers and percussive arts masters. The JUBA! concerts are the culminating events of Rhythm World, the oldest and most comprehensive summer festival of tap and percussive dance in the world. The two-week long festival also features classes, workshops, tap jams, concerts, panel discussions and development conferences.
The concerts at MCA Stage also feature the JUBA! Awards, which honor esteemed members and supporters of the tap community. For its 20th anniversary season, CHRP has selected four awardees who have been important to the organization’s history as well as to the overall advancement of American tap as an art form: Gene Medler, founder and director of the highly acclaimed North Carolina Youth Tap Ensemble; Sam Weber, internationally respected performer, master teacher and choreographer; Dianne “Lady Di” Walker, the “Ella Fitzgerald” of tap and a pioneer in the art form’s resurgence; and the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago which has contributed to the field through its longtime presentation and sponsorship of tap performance and education programs.

Waitlist Procedure
Box office will begin a waitlist one hour before the program begins. At that time, numbers are given out to patrons on a first-come, first-served basis, one number per patron per ticket. As tickets become available, box office staff will call out waitlist numbers in the order they are given out. Patrons must be present to take a number. As staff cannot predict when or if tickets will become available, it is important for those on the waitlist to remain within hearing distance. If a number is called and no one responds, box office staff will dismiss the number called and call the next number. Cash is preferred for waitlist transactions. Thank you for your cooperation and interest in this event.
