Through obsessive photography of the sky above—whether at home or in his travels—Ken Fandell creates an objective yet idiosyncratic document of the passage of time. Through the digital manipulation of these photographs, which were taken over many months, Fandell marks and makes visible his exploration of time through an intricate montage of ephemeral and perpetually changing cloud formations, sunsets, and full moons. These natural cycles are re-envisioned into unnatural patterns that become psychedelic and hallucinatory.
